How I Save $300 per week
And get to my goals quicker
When someone pointed out that having a coffee every day was costing me more than $1500 per year, I was moderately shocked, and only momentarily upset. There was no way I was going to cut back on my daily pleasure that brings me so much joy and comfort just to save for two weeks’ rent. And so, I didn’t give up coffee, but I started looking at my expenses.
As a nutritionist, I have been bombarded with the concept of eating well and training weekly to get stronger. So, how could I nourish and exercise my finances so that my money worked for me?
First of all, I did what the majority does: I jumped on the internet and binge-watched videos on investment, passive income, side hustles, minimalism, and frugalism. However, despite finding those videos refreshing at first, I quickly noticed a couple of things:
- They kept repeating themselves (to the point that two different creators would come up with the same conversation and ideas, copy and paste style).
- I felt behind, as if everyone was a millionaire and I was counting pennies, unsure of what to prioritize to reach financial independence.
So, I switched off my laptop, put my scarcity mentality on pause, grabbed pen and paper, and started looking at my life, bank account, goals, and…
